Visitation will be held 11:00am-2:00pm, Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Rev. Don Williams, Rev. Bernard Nail and Rev. Art Kinstley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kevin Lott, Joshua Hobock, Van Wilson, Zachary Lott, Sean Meacham and Trey Calendar.
He was born Sunday, June 18, 1933 in Grenada County, Mississippi, a son of the late Joseph B. Lott and Annie M. Gant Lott. He was a 1952 graduate of Gore Springs High School, as well as a graduate of Mississippi College, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in History in 1960, Master's Degree in Education in 1972 and Specialist Degree in Education in 1980. He retired after more than 30 years as a teacher and guidance counselor for the Rankin County School System.
Rev. Lott was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1959 and pastored several churches across Mississippi. He was a faithful member of Crossview Baptist Church in Brandon, a member of the John P. Byrd Masonic Lodge of Pearl and a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Doris Lott; son, Kevin Lott and wife Amy; daughter, Kim Wilson and husband Van; grandchildren, Joshua Hobock and wife Jennifer, Zachary Lott, Jessica Wilson, Rachel Wilson and Sean Meacham; and great-grandson, Grady Paul Hobock.
