Lucille Bonner Muirhead, 77, of Florence, MS went to be with our Lord the morning of Thursday, February 21, 2013. Ms. Muirhead passed quietly in her sleep. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
She was born on October 6, 1935 in Forest, Louisiana. She spent the majority of her youth in Oak Grove, Louisiana surrounded by family. She and the love of her life, James Muirhead, were happily married for 45 years. James preceded her in death in March 1997.
Lucille was also known as Sally and Maggie to her family and friends. She was a loving mother and an exceptional grandmother who always had time to listen. She ended her talks with her loved ones with a smile and “I love you too, Baby.”
Maggie was a gentle woman with a kind heart and word for those she met. Those who met her commented she was a true Southern lady. Maggie’s most treasured possessions were her children and grandbabies.
She leaves her children Robert Muirhead, Helen and Mickey Pigg, Jeanie Pigg, Betty and Ricky Thornton of Florence and Renea Haycraft of Flowood; grandchildren Robin and Kris Jackson, Courtney and Chaz Remus of Florence, Mike and Suzanne Thornton of Forest, Kathy and Drew Bryson of Madison, Josh and Heather Haycraft of Brandon, John Norrell of Murphreesboro, TN, Jennifer and Craig Lawson of Bartlett, TN, Andy and Kara Bennett of Shreveport, LA and Matt Bennett of Richland; and eleven great grandchildren who will miss Maggie greatly.
For those wishing to honor Maggie with a donation to a group, consideration could be given to the Adam Muirhead Band Award for Mendenhall High School in Mendenhall, MS.
