She was born to the late Milner and Nancy Ann Taylor Laughter on November 19, 1932 in Deer, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her brothers Dempsey, James Alvin and Max; and her sisters Belva Irene and Iva Jean.
Married to her late husband, Sammie Rooker for 42 years. Although they never had children, they were "parents and grandparents" to many. Joan never met a child she didn't love! She dearly loved all of her family, friends, and neighbors.
She is survived by two sisters, Paula and Judy, and many nieces and nephews plus God children, God grandchildren and God great-grandchildren and many friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm, Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Billy Huffmaster officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
