Gloria Amelia Walton, of Pearl, went home to be with the Lord on October 3, 2023. She was born in Natchez, MS to Pearl and John McGaughey. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers John McGaughey, Earl McGaughey, Albert Theadore (Teddy) McGaughey, her sister Laura (Tiny) McGaughey. She is survived by her sister, Grace Kelly, along with her children, Duane Walton of Florence, Sherri Kleinhans (David) of Pearl, Beverly Bates (Harry) of Florence, her grandchildren, Jennifer Pettus (Bill), Jonathan Bates, Coady Baggett (Audrey), Lauren Berryhill, 6 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Gloria was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a hard worker, but above everything she was a devout Christian woman that loved God. She served the Lord in many different capacities. Not only did she live a life that reflected her beliefs as a Christian on a daily basis, she taught Sunday school, worked with young people and taught and preached at the prison. There, she was able to lead many to the Lord. She literally touched hundreds of lives and truly was a reflection of Christ that lived inside of her. She will be greatly missed!
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, October 6, 2023, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be at 10:00am, Saturday, October 7, 2023, in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
