Clara Jeanette Herron, age 73, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, following a stroke. Born on January 7, 1951, in Hollandale, Mississippi, to Roe Thomas and Juanita Castle, Jeanette lived a life full of love, dedication, and passion.
Jeanette had a deep affection for animals, especially dogs, cats, and birds. Her love for nature extended to her green thumb, as she was an avid gardener who could make any plant thrive. Jeanette also enjoyed fishing, a hobby that brought her peace and joy.
Her culinary skills were legendary among family and friends. Jeanette was known for her delicious cakes, pies, and Sunday roasts, and her rolls were a favorite at church gatherings. She found joy in cooking for others, always sharing her love through food.
For many years, Jeanette owned and operated a small engine and boat repair company in Morton, MS, combining her love for water and fishing with her entrepreneurial spirit.
A woman of faith, Jeanette cherished her favorite Bible verse, John 14:1-4: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Jeanette is survived by her two sisters, Barbara Byrd, and Susie Beck; her two daughters, Denise Swann and Cynthia LaRue; five grandchildren, Douglas Neff, Ashley Neff-Chopane, Seth LaRue, Chase Atkinson, and Sarah LaRue; plus 5 great-grandchildren. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
