Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm, Monday, April 11, 2016, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 11:00am, April 12, 2016, in the funeral home chapel with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park.
He was born Wednesday, February 4, 1925, in Monroe, Louisiana, a son of the late George Robert Fisher and Beatrice New Fisher. On Sunday, December 12, 1948, he married Dora Nell Smith and they were blessed with four sons.
Mr. Fisher was a member of College Drive Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pearl, where he faithfully attended until the weekend prior to his passing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired as a machinist from Sperry Vickers/Eaton after more than 30 years of service. Always active and energetic, he enjoyed working in his yard, where he maintained his vegetable garden and cut his own grass through the age of 90. Mr. Fisher was very involved in sports activities, and played and coached baseball, and was a pitcher for the Vickers softball team.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Dora Nell Smith Fisher; sons, Eddie Fisher and wife Sandy, Ray Fisher, Ronnie "Fish" Fisher, and David Fisher and wife Becky; brother, Kenneth Fisher; grandchildren, Charlie Fisher, Tony Fisher, Tony Spears, Jamie Johnson, Crystal Pohl, Sean Fisher, Amber Neese and Payton Fisher; and great-grandchildren, Macy Spears, Gavin Spears, Trace Johnson, Madisun Pohl, Andrew Pohl, Kaitlyn Pohl and Mackenzie Fisher.
