Charlene Benson Jones, 75, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Jackson. Visitation is 5:00-8:00pm Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Graveside services are 10:00am Friday, November 5, 2010 in Independence Methodist Church Cemetery, Morton.
Mrs. Jones was employed by Railroad Center Daycare in Florence. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she frequently attended her granddaughter’s school and sports activities, and was commonly referred to as “MawMaw” by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Jones, in 2004.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Bynum and husband Kenneth of Florence; granddaughter, Mackenzie Britt of Florence; step-sons, Ray Jones and wife Barbara and Gene Jones and wife Becky all of Illinois; and sisters, Birdie Steakley of Savannah, TN, Rosie Kelly of Tupelo, Louise Kelly of Tupelo and Bonnie Durham of Savannah, TN.
