Born November 7, 1936 to the late Bob Morgan and Hazel Beatrice (Moore) Morgan. Carolyn graduated Crossroads High School where she was a star basketball player. Her love for the sport continued her entire life, and Carolyn’s favorite player of all time was Michael Jordan. She was a longtime member of Eastside Baptist Church in Pearl. Carolyn was the embodiment of a Proverbs 31 woman, with a strong faith. Her strength also shone in other ways, uniting the family and cooking them the most delicious meals. She remained active in the workforce into her 80’s. Family was the most important thing on Earth to her. She enjoyed antiquing and fishing with her loved ones. She had a reputation of a doting grandmother and great-grandmother, always making sure everyone knew how much she loved them and how proud she was of them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bobbie, Nita, Nell and Pat; a brother, Robert Delton; and her son-in-law James Christopher Smith.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 65 years, R.L. “Bob” Johns; sons, Morgan Johns (LaNell) and Leslie Johns (Helen); daughters, Jennifer Johns Smith and Jan Johns Acy (Gareth); brother, Sonny Morgan; grandchildren, Josh Johns (Mary Courtney), Ashton Thomasson (Bo), Adam Johns (Vita), Erica Johns, Wynn Smith, Lucas Acy and Grady Acy; great-grandchildren Linden, Ellis, Maryn, Hailey, Caleb and a number of dear extended family members.
