Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Thomas James Caudle, 79, a resident of Newnan, Georgia, died Thursday, June 6, 2019 after battling pancreatic cancer. He was born October 1, 1939 in Coconut Grove, Florida, the son of Thomas Pearce Caudle and Mary Kate Langley. Tom grew up in Miami and loved his Florida home. He attended Coral Gables High School where he graduated in 1957 and went on to attend Florida State University, earning his degree in accounting in 1961. He also earned a Masters in Real Estate from Florida International University. He married his high school sweetheart, Judith Hulsman, in Coral Gables on April 26, 1962. Tom became a CPA and worked for accounting firms, banks and spent many years as the business manager at Ransom Everglades High School in Coral Gables. Together they raised their three children William, Susan and Robert in their home in the Kendall neighborhood of Miami, Florida.
Tom and Judy moved to Peachtree City in 1982 to be closer to family. Tom’s career included accounting and audit positions at Equifax and MARTA. Tom also served in the Air Force Reserves and was a trained paramedic.
A steadfast husband and father, Tom recently celebrated 57 years of marriage with Judy, whom he truly loved through sickness and health. He was happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren at his home. His house was often voted “Yard of the Month” in the neighborhood, as he loved gardening and created a beautiful haven for his wife and extended family. Tom enjoyed cooking and was known for his special “make you feel better” soup and his melt in your mouth brisket. He was also a veteran little league baseball coach, expert driving teacher to his grandchildren, as well as an avid tennis player.
A man of deep faith, he was an active member of All Saints Anglican Church in Fayetteville, where he could often be found making the children of the congregation smile. The family would like to thank All Saints for their incredible support, love and prayers for Tom and his family throughout this journey.
Tom is survived by his wife Judy, his son and daughter-in-law Bill and Joanna of Maryland, daughter Susan and son and daughter-in-law Robert and Lisa all of Newnan. Also surviving are his three grandchildren, Katie, Will and Mike as well as Tom’s sisters Gloria, Alice, and brother Charles.
