Mrs. Terry Jean Stahl, 81, of Peachtree City, GA passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2024 in Fayetteville, GA. She was born August 29, 1942 to Charles Higgins and Ruth Stevenson Higgins, in Auburn, NY. Terry graduated from Sherwood Central High School in Aurora, NY in 1960. This is where she met her future husband, in high school, when she was only 16 years old and, married him three years later, on December 8, 1961 in Chesterfield, SC. They shared a wonderful life together and had two daughters, Sherry and Wendi. She then went on to nursing school in California and she graduated from there in 1974. They moved a few times over the years. First, they moved to McPherson, KS in 1976, then to Glen Allen, VA in 1986, on to Sicklerville, NJ in 1994 then, their final move in 1998 to Peachtree City, GA.
She enjoyed her plants and gardening, traveling, knitting, cards, book clubs, crafts and animals, and also cooking and canning. She loved her family and friends most of all, and her precious dog, Mia.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents; her sisters, Barb Spicer and Betty Jane Mason; and by her beloved grandson, Jacob Swoboda (1995-2019).
Terry is survived by her devoted husband of over 62 years, Roger Stahl; her daughters, Sherry Stahl of Washington, MO and Wendi Swoboda along with her husband, Ted Swoboda of Union, MO; and her grandchildren, Leigha, Natasha, and Andrew Swoboda.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held in the chapel at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11:00 am with Pastor Sean Robinson officiating the service. There will be a gathering after the service for family and friends following the service.
