Rhea Carolyn Rook Herche, aged 88, passed away on September 9, 2024, in Senoia, GA. Born on August 25, 1936, in Roanoke Rapids, NC, Carolyn was a beacon of light with a vibrant personality and deep love for her family.
Carolyn dedicated 33 years of her career as a Registered Nurse at South Fulton Medical Center, where she touched many lives with her compassion and professionalism. She was a charter member for 47 years at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church in Riverdale, GA, where she was deeply involved in church activities.
Carolyn's hobbies included spending cherished moments with her beloved dog, Mollie, going to the casino, dancing with Johnny, throwing a “Herche Party,” and enjoying quality time with her family, who meant the world to her.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Connie Herche; granddaughter, Cathi Shubert (Billy); grandsons, Todd “Boomer” Champion (Kelsey) and John Reisz Champion; great-grandson, Ryker Champion; and great-granddaughters, Emersyn Champion and Mckenna Champion. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, John Reisz Herche Jr; daughter, Bonnie Herche; parents, Barney and Iris Rook; and her brother, James Rook.
The community will have the opportunity to pay their respects at the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church in Riverdale, GA, with the funeral service commencing at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Camp Memorial Park Cemetery, Fayetteville, GA. The family will welcome visitors at Carolyn’s home following the services. Rhea Carolyn Rook Herche will be remembered for her enduring love and the profound impact she had on those around her.
