Mrs. Jean May Williams was born in Devon, Manchester, Jamaica on November 20, 1934, and was the fourth of five children. Jean married Egbert Williams and had 11 children and was married for 49 yrs at the time of his passing on January 7, 2013.
Jean emigrated to the United States of America in 1992. A devoted Christian she attended Gregory Park New Testament Church- Jamaica, Gateway Church- Florida and Go Church- Georgia up to her last breath on September 26, 2024. Jean will be remembered for her fashionable hats and could always be heard repeating one of her 3 favorite lines:
“I cannot bless you, but God will bless you”
“Thank God fi me rabbit pickney dem”
“I’m blessed and highly favored.”
Jean will join her husband, Egbert (2013), daughter, Lillieth(2018) and son Melvin (2021) who preceded her in death. Survived by Yvonne, Mansfield, Merline, Mark, Janet, Renford, Horace, Renaldo, Kimor, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other family.
A visitation for Jean will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory.
Jean's celebration of life funeral service will occur Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at GO Church with burial following the service at Oak Hill Cemetery.
