Ray L. “Larry” Parks Jr., age 60, formerly of Payette, passed away at his home in Caldwell surrounded by loved ones, Monday March 28, 2016. Ray fought a heroic fight with brain cancer. A viewing and visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the start of his Remembrance of Life Service which will be held at 11:00 AM April 6, 2016 at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette. Pastor Vernon Ward will conduct. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Payette. Condolences may be made to Ray’s family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Ray was born in Cottage Grove, OR. To Ray L. Parks Sr. and Amelia June (Thompson) Parks. Growing up he was blessed with an older sister, Carolyn J. Parks, and a younger sister, Diana L. Parks (Bellagante). Ray completed schooling through his Junior year in Cottage Grove, OR. Then the entire family moved to Fruitland/ Payette area of Idaho, where Ray graduated from Fruitland High School in 1974.
Among many part time and full time jobs, plus farming, Ray hired on at Amalgamated Sugar Company in the Nyssa Plant. Working his way from entry level “Floor Sweeper” through a myriad of jobs ending his 37 year career as “C” Shift Supervisor at the Nampa Plant. He retired in November of 2015.
He is survived in death by all his immediate family, Ray L. (Sr.) and A. June Parks of Payette, ID; Sisters, Carolyn J. Parks of Payette, ID; Diana L. (Parks) Bellagante of Fruitland, ID; also by his loving helpmate and wife in Caldwell, ID.
