George Allen Houser, 76, of Fruitland, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Luke’s Medical Center - Fruitland. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm, Sunday, May 31st at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Graveside services will be held at 10 am, Monday, June 1st at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. George was born on Feb. 17, 1939 in Cherokee, IA to Clifford and Nellie (Farran) Houser. He joined his older brother Jack. The family moved to Twin Falls, ID when George was two years old. After moving to Idaho a sister and another brother joined the family.
He has been a truck driver since he was 16 years old when he quit school to go to work. George continued to drive until he was 75. He married Kristine Skinner and they had four children and later divorced. George then married Sharon Manker and they had one daughter. Sharon passed away and George later married Arlene Wayne.
George and Arlene bought four wheelers and spent many trips camping and riding four wheelers with the kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren and other family and friends.
George is survived by his wife, Arlene; sons, George William “Willy” Houser (Susan), Ken Houser (Michelle), Wayne Buxton; daughters Debra Ecret, Linda Dagenette (Doug), Penny Morgan and Karen Current; his sister Marilyn De Witt (Paul); 30 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon; two brothers, Jack and Larry; one son-in-law, Doug Current; three grandsons, Jonathan Stanger, Ricky Stanger and Derrick Current; and one granddaughter, Rebekah Current.
