William “Bill” Edwin Shelpman, 70, of Circleville, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital from an 18 month battle with cancer. He was born on May 25, 1954 in Portsmouth, OH, a son to the late Claude and Rosetta (Montgomery) Shelpman. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Michael.
Bill was the owner operator of his business, “The Floor Guy” for 25 years, with help from brother, Bob and niece, Shawn.
He was a renowned musician in Southern Ohio and tri-state area. His proudest moments were on stage with brother, Bob in the Shelpman Brother’s Band, including the late David Morgan (drummer) and Rick Fields (steel guitar). He also played with many other bands – Freestyle, Streamline, Dallas, Dakota, Drifter and many more.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Karin; children, Alisa (Jay) Jordan, Ashley, Jacob Lyons, Michael and Bobby; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob, Linda, David (Rhonda), Adam (Mary Ann), Juanita (Donny) Colvin, Lori Dixon, Mary (Steve) McCune and Beth (Bill) Cluck; sister-in-laws, Penny and Kat Flores; former wife, Naomi Russell and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Honoring Bill’s wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
