Robert Owen Morris, 76, of Athens, OH passed away at Grant Medical Center Saturday November 4th, 2023, after a long struggle with heart disease. Bob was born in Akron OH on April 10th, 1947, to the late Ralph & Lucille (Davis) Morris. He graduated from Akron Buchtel High School in 1966 and attended the University of Akron. He was also a member of the Army Reserves. Bob worked for the City of Akron for over 30 years and retired in 1998 as the President of the City Workers Union. After retirement, Bob spent time in California and Mississippi before eventually settling in the Columbus area where he met his wife Linda, who survives. Bob or ”Mr. Bob” as he was affectionately called, was known for his kind hearted, cheerful, and sometimes silly demeanor and was beloved by many. He never knew a stranger and especially loved children and animals. His cats Abby & Daisy will miss him dearly. Bob was a die-hard Ohio State Football and Cleveland Browns fan, and it was from him that his daughter developed her love of football. He was an avid gardener and spent time in Mississippi teaching agricultural classes. He also loved history and watching old westerns and war movies on TV.
In addition to his wife Linda, Bob is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Dan) Seas of Pataskala, OH and granddaughters, Shelby & Kelsey Seas also of Pataskala; a brother, Don (Krissy) Morris of Daytona Beach, FL; stepson, Michael (Heather) Shaffer & grandchildren Madison, Zachary & Zoe Shaffer of Pickerington.
The Kauber-Fraley funeral home in Pataskala is handling the arrangements.
