Mary Ann Helen LeMay, 88, died at Tuscany Gardens in Pataskala, Ohio on October 5, 2024, after a year-long courageous battle with lung cancer. Known affectionately as Mim or Mika by her loved ones, she was born on March 20, 1936, in Pittsburgh, PA. She came into the world during the aftermath of the famous Pittsburgh flood, with her mother taken by boat to the hospital from the top floor of their home.
She graduated from Mt. Alvernia High School and worked at Pennsylvania Bell until she met her future husband, and after living in several cities around the country, they ultimately settled in Ohio. Her love for all things Pittsburgh was fierce, particularly the Steelers. Her other passions included her love of animals, roller coasters, Turner Classic Movies, chocolate, Frank Sinatra, and a silly fondness for Keith Urban.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. LeMay, her parents, Ann and Frank Omasits, Sr., and her brother, Frank Omasits. She is survived by her sister-in-law Jean Omasits, her daughters Linda (Max) Monroe, Suzanne (Joe) Curmode, and Mary Kay (Joel) LeMay; grandchildren Matt (Kim) Monroe, Ryan (Kelsey) Monroe, Joey (Jessica) Curmode III, and Sophie Waugh; her nephew Chris (Danielle) Omasits, great grandchildren Lucy, Josey, Jaylen, and Joey IV, and great niece Frankie. She also will be missed by many friends, colleagues, and her favorite dog, Oliver.
Her remains will be taken to her beloved Pittsburgh where the family will hold a private celebration of her life at her favorite places throughout the city. Mika will forever be in our hearts. The family is accepting donations in Mary Ann's memory to the American Cancer Society.
