A Private Family Memorial Service for Charlie “Paul” Nixon of Pataskala will be held on Friday April 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Pataskala with Rev. Steve Merold officiating.
Paul was born on April 28, 1924 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Wiley Paul and Nettie (Ray) Nixon. He went to be with our Lord on Thursday April 2, 2015 in Columbus. He was 90.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Doris Thrift and Ellen Wheeler, brothers Ray and Fred Nixon.
Paul is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anne B. Nixon, sister May Burger, daughters Linda (Jimmy) Brown, Annette (Jack) Truex, Karen Nixon and Tim DiPietro, sons Dennis (Terri) Nixon, Kevin (Lisa) Nixon.
Grandchildren: Amy (Chris), Andy, Jennifer (Jamie), Michelle (Curt), Kristina, Clayton, Cole, Ryan, Breanne (Zak), Connor, Ethan, Emily, Eliot, and Elan. Great Grandchildren Logan, Alexa, Mackenzie, Avalyn, Kyndal, and Brantley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul proudly served his country during WWII in the US Army Air Corps 880th Airborne Engineers in the Pacific theater. He was a life long elder and deacon of the Presbyterian Church, a life member of the VFW Post # 9473, and was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge # 404, he was a Legion of Honor member of the Aladdin Shrine, American Legion of East Bend #336. He retired from Indera Mills after 50 years of service.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may contribute to the Pataskala Masonic Lodge or the First Presbyterian Church of Pataskala in his memory. Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
