If this is the Jennifer Wilhovsky I went to school with. Her parents used to own and run a private school in Garden Grove CA.  Jen's mother's name was Charlene, and her father Peter and brother Eric.   Jen and I were best friends in my 7th grade year.  We had sleepovers and I would go to Jewish temple on Friday evenings with her, and on Sundays she'd go to church with me.  I had this overwhelming feeling to look her up on Facebook. This is one of my favorite memories. Jen invited us to come ride on her property with her. What an incredible day and memory. Why she isn’t in the picture is a bummer, but she will be in my heart forever🩷

Jen was a shining star both in the classroom and out in nature with her friends. As the School Nurse, I was privileged to see many teachers and Jen was in a league of her own, she was kind, loving, and her students adored her.  She will be missed terribly.

I worked with Jen for several years. She was kind, caring, and an all around good human. She loved her students and families. She loved her life. She will be deeply missed. I am sad for all of us who will miss a bit of sunshine that she brought wherever she went.

Jen, you taught me so much about great teaching with your endless positive energy and talents. I always enjoyed visiting your classroom and learning from you and your little ones. I so appreciated your positive outlook and responses to a variety of challenges. Your daily practice demonstrated that students could surpass expectations when provided the right guidance, love, and care.

Jen, you will be so missed. You emanated warmth and joy.  It was a pleasure to work with you and I was honored to call you a friend. Your classroom was always the place to be, the  spot where everyone (grownups and kids) wanted to hang out. I especially loved when I got to be a part of the joyful circle times you would lead. You sparked joy in everyone and they reflected it back to you. You were welcoming and kind to whoever you crossed paths with. You were such a special person. Your memory is a blessing.

Our family will forever be grateful for Jen. 13 years ago she provided so much stability for our daughter, and gave us such peace of mind during a school year in which we were trying to find our footing. We always looked forward to picking up our kids or having parties in her classroom as she made her classroom feel like home. We will miss her greatly. Our community is greater because of Jen.

Jenn was such a sweet and talented soul. She had great passion for providing quality education for her littles. She was an outstanding hostess and opened her home to lots of fun and music.  She is greatly missed and gone far too soon.

I wish there were more Jen’s in the world. She was so selfless and loved our special kiddos so big. She was a bright light in such a scary time in our life. Rest easy Jen. You left a huge hole in the world.

Ahhhhhh… Jen,
How do I summarize 25+ plus years of friendship? The day you walked into our lives all those years ago was the best thing to ever happen to us. I always liked to think that you tamed the “Mountain Man”, and loved him like he was the last man on earth. You were a devoted daughter, adored your brother and his family, and you helped me raise my baby girls. You tucked them under your wing and instilled in them from an early age the act of kindness. The love you had for them was unconditional, as was your love for Richard and I . You grew to be my sister, always there when I needed you, always with a smile and always telling me you loved me. I can hear your voice now, “Hi Laur, hope you’re having a great day.  I love you”.
I have no doubt that I was blessed to meet an angel in person and can say that you were the kindest person I have ever walked this earth with. I will see you again Jen, someday when God calls us all back home. We will be together then. In the meantime, we will take care of Coe. He’s all we have left of you here at the ranch. Rest in Peace my friend, I will miss you forever ❤️

Jen taught my daughter’s first year of preschool. My daughter loved her so much. Every morning she ran to greet her with a hug before going into the classroom. It became their little routine. On her very first day of school, I was emotional and Jen went out of her way to send pictures and updates to me throughout the day. She truly made a difference in the short time we knew her.

Jen made such a difference in so many lives, I am one of many many paras who learned from Jen and continued on to become a special ed teacher, she had such a huge ripple effect on the world of special education and for special needs families 💕 She will be so greatly missed

I was fortunate to be Jen's friend and band mate, she was a wonderful, talented person and I will never forget her.

Awesome memories at the hootenanny that you guys used to put on. Always such an inviting person.  I’ll never forget us going to the roller derby together, was such a riot. Most of all she was so caring and played such a big part in my daughter’s life. She will carry on in all our hearts. God bless you Coe and her parents and Kelsey family. It is with a heavy heart I write this, and want to send out my condolences to Jen’s family and friends. I had the privilege of working alongside Jen these last few years as an aide in her class and I loved it. I saw how much she adored all the kids and how much the kids adored her. She was always so thoughtful towards everyone around her, especially with her aides. She always made us feel so loved and would remind us how much she loved working with us. Room 4 will always hold a special place in my heart because of Jen. I will forever cherish the moments I got to work alongside her and remember her warm embraces.

Jen was such a blessing to families in our community. I had the pleasure of working alongside her for a short time as a Special Education teacher, and I always loved how creative and encouraging she was. She knew when to challenge her students to make progress and when to hold back and let them gain the confidence to do it all on their own. She was a mentor to so many of her colleagues, and I loved getting to know her outside of the school environment, too. Jen, you will be missed!

Jennifer was a great educator and my son, Chance, had the wonderful opportunity to be one of her students at San Gabriel Elementary school. Her kindness and passion will not be forgotten ❤️🤍.  She will be missed dearly.

Jenny was such an important part of my teenage years! I will never forget going over on the weekends to watch Glee, going to see movies with her and talking to her about life. She was truly an angel on earth and everyone who was lucky enough to know her was better because of her.

First and foremost, I would like to say I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart is heavy. My condolences and prayers for Jen’s loved ones.  I had so many fond memories with Jen. I remember when I first met Jen, she had the brightest smile that would light up the room. I had the pleasure to work with a great person. Jen Lagos had so much passion and love for her students. It did not end there. Jen’s love overflowed into co-workers as well and those she met. 
One of several common interest I had with Jen were guinea pigs. She, just like I loved guinea pigs! I remember one day she came into the office with excitement as she could not wait to share with me what she did one weekend. Jen showed me pictures that she took with a Capybara. She said excitedly, “look I got to be with a BIG Guinea pig!”.   I was so happy she got to experience that. 
The few times I would help out in her classroom during transition of students for a few minutes you can just feel the loved and passion that filled her classroom. Jen Lagos was such a giving, caring, and loving individual. I am blessed to have been able to have shared that beautiful friendship and work experience with Jen. I will always remember the laughs, hugs, conversations, and times we had together in our place of work. Her memories will forever remain in my heart and Jen will be greatly missed. Jen means the world to me and my girls. She was a huge part in my journey of becoming a special needs  mom. She had my sweet Scarlett for three years in pre school and then my daughter Presley  as a peer for 2 more years. Those 5 years she was there for me as much as she was there for them. She really helped me navigate all the trials and tribulations that come with special education.  She set the standard for special  education teaches there after in my mind. She will forever be missed in our family. ❤️❤️❤️

Jen was a kind and inspirational teacher and a wonderful human being. She taught our son, Christopher, for three years. And whenever we went to the therapy unit at San Gabriel West he was always looking to the preschool room to see if Jen was there. We were there last year and he was still looking for her! He is 19 years old now!
So many heartfelt prayers to her loved ones.

I had the privilege of knowing this wonderful lady for such a short time,  but every minute of knowing her I will cherish. Jen made me feel welcome right away when I joined the staff and was ready to extend her help whenever I needed something. When I would "lose" my story time  books and I would send an email to the staff, she would reply, "I haven't seen it, but I have one and you can borrow mine" Jen, I love you for being who you are and I know that I can still count on you to guide me when I lose books, glasses ,etc.

Days off consisted of times like this.  Relaxing and visiting…… so thankful for these precious times. …

Jen, you not only gave my son a safe place to go and learn where he was loved and encouraged, but you introduced me to some of my very best mommy-friends.  I did not tell you thank you enough but I will forever be grateful for the woman you were to all of us.  You were able to care for the most vulnerable population with joy.  Instead of being frustrated or sad when these littles did not see or act in the world the way others did, you embraced and loved them.  Thank you for being the person you were, I will never forget you.

I started working with Jen in her preschool class in 2007. She made me feel very welcome,  we started as work collegues, but quickly grew into  wonderful friends  She was full of energy, happiness, and fun.  In the past few years, we both took different preschool jobs, but I would run into around town.  I just saw her at Walmart the beginning of July.  I cherish that hug I got from her now and the time we took to talk!  I will miss her....she touched many lives with her smile, love of children, support for their families, and genuine kindness.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Coe, her family, and friends  during this difficult time.

Jen was such an incredible mentor and team teacher with me at Marie Bauer. The first year of teaching is so terrifying and she made it so much easier! Her constant support and always checking in on me meant everything! I learned of her passing a few days ago and I was speechless. I know she will continue to look down on all of us. I am at a loss of words. She was always giving so much to those around her. Sending my love and prayers to all the family and friends.

Wish I had a photo. Jennifer was one of my best friends when we were just pups. So many laughs. So much fun. So many Polaroids but none with me now as I’m overseas. Am devastated to hear this news. Can’t wrap my head around it. Hadn’t had contact in years but doesn’t mean the memories fade or the love diminishes. I wish I could have known Jennifer as an adult. I’m sure we’d still be laughing and silly as ever. Forever grateful God chose her to be my bestie when I was little. Sleepovers and games, great food and GREAT FAMILY. Cannot tell you HOW excited I was to be invited to stay over on a Friday night and have my parents say YES!!!! I love you Jennifer. Thank you for being you and choosing me to be your friend. Jen was amazing—one of those rare angels on Earth. She always had a smile on her face and could brighten even the darkest day. She was always genuinely happy to see you and give you the warmest hugs. She was one of those people that you were simply lucky to have in your life. I will miss the way she lit up when I’d bring her cookies or a blended drink. I will miss camping with her, going on walks, and listening to her sing by the fire. I will miss her endless positivity and the way she would say, “Hi Honey!” whenever she’d see me. Love you, Jen! My condolences goes out to Jen’s family. She was light to everyone around. I worked in another classroom and had daily interactions with her for over 5 years. Her love for the kids she worked with is indescribable. She will be greatly missed by everyone that know her.

My condolences and prayers of comfort go out to Jen‘s family and friends. I’m still in shock to hear that she’s no longer here.🥲 I loved working with my Speech pathologist and with Jen in her preschool class. I can still remember her voice and her beautiful smile as she would sing to all her beautiful students. Both of my kids went to preschool next to her class and I would volunteer especially on Fridays, which is when our kids had the opportunity to interact with her class. Jen was such a loving and caring human being. I will miss seeing you at the chiropractic office every time she would see me she would greet me with her friendly smile and a hug 🫶🏼she will surely be missed.💔🙏🤗 Always in our hearts and thoughts💕

Jennifer was an exemplary educator. She was an example for all and respected by everyone who worked with her. She developed trust and respect with such ease. She set the bar for all preschool teachers. To say she will be missed is such an understatement. I will always and forever treasure the years we worked together.

I have had the privilege of spending many wonderful camping trips with Jen. Every time I got the opportunity to see Jen she always greeted me with the biggest smiles and hugs! On our camping trips we would sit around the campfire and share s’mores and sing songs. She would sit back, rock in the chair and just sing away. It was beautiful, and she will be missed dearly.

What a beautiful and aunthentic woman. I am so sad to hear about this seemingly sudden loss. I worked for Jen in sped as her aide and I was so blessed to be able to work alongside someone so instinctual and naturally amazing with kiddos with any need,
She even helped me see things in myself I didn't before.

She was the first person I trusted to leave my baby with and he absolutely loved Teacher Jen. My heart aches for her, her loved ones, her students… she was a angel amongst us and I’ll be sure Ollie knows how much he loved his preschool teacher and how beautiful her heart was. Jen was such a mentor to me when I was a student teacher going through Cuesta college anytime I needed to do observation work. I always chose to observe in her class she she loved those kids fiercely and like they were her own, she loved passing down her knowledge in teaching the next generation to work with special needs children with such kindness, gentleness, and compassion. I will always be grateful for the lessons that she taught me and the things that I learned through her on working with special needs families and advocating for them and their rights. Rest in peace teacher, Jen you will be missed more than any of us can say.

I loved working with you in your classroom.  You taught me so much both professionally and as a person.  You loved people well  and were so passionate about your kiddos, coworkers, friends, family and animals. I am a better person for having known you.  You will be deeply missed my friend. I can’t even imagine the number of lives Miss Jenn has touched over the years. She was truly a guiding light to us in such a new uncertain time in our lives and I will forever be thankful for her guidance, kindness and sweet, sweet spirit she shared with all of “her kids” and their families. Going to Jenny’s house meant lots of hugs, laughter, kisses, and sweets! Growing up, whenever we needed anything from advice to a cure for boredom we ran to Jenny’s to ask her for help. She would entertain us rambunctious kids by showing us her horse, letting us “bake” (make a mess) in her kitchen or run outside with her emu Humphrey or just letting us sit in the AC when it was 110 degrees outside! She used to come over to my parents house with Tessa Kelsey and the three of us would spend hours with our farm animals playing with goats and pigs. We used to make ginger bread houses in December and she would let us eat all the candy we wanted. We showed her pictures of all of our school dances and hair and makeup. She and I used to walk her horse around and give him baths at my parent’s ranch.  She heard about breakups and crushes and boys and drama. We will miss her everyday. She is such an amazing light that will shine down on me constantly. She taught me many life lessons on how to love, care for others, and be as kind as possible. For all these memories and ways of life I learned from her, I am truly grateful. I added pictures from ginger bread house making in December of 2013

I still can’t believe it’s true. We’ve been friends for close to 16 years. Jen was an amazing woman, teacher, and friend. We had the pleasure of having her teach two of our children, Keagan & Xander. She was the first person to help us feel like we weren’t alone on this special needs journey. She put together a Facebook group for all of us “special moms”. She was a fierce advocate for the special needs community. I had the privilege of working with her in her classroom and I will treasure those memories forever. She was one of the first people I called when we were adopting our second child. I had to let her know she was going to be teaching another one of my babies! She was more than just a teacher to us , she was our friend who felt like family. My heart hurts. 💔

Jen. There are no words to say adequately what you meant to me. I was a 24 year old young single mom of a child I didn’t know his future and you embraced and loved both of us. You treated with so much love and support. My boy never forgot you. He still would ask to go back to San Gabriel. You will forever live in my heart. Thank you for everything you did for us in one of the hardest moments of my life. You will be so missed.

To my Jenny. You were my second mom and the sweetest most understanding amazing woman. I am more than heartbroken.  I never thought I’d go through my life without you there the whole time. But I will keep you in my heart forever. You’ll always be with me. ❤️

I am no longer able to physically embrace the love of my life. In lieu of that I will do the following and I invite you all to do the same.
 I will survive, & keep Jen in my heart &  thoughts  forever.
 I will use the love & compassion  she gave me to strengthen myself and others, by  spreading it as she did wherever she went.
 I will take my grief & use it to forge myself into a into a better human being.  For this is the treasure & legacy Jen left me.
