Amy, also known as Mysty, was born February 11, 1976, in Salinas, California, to her parents, Von Dean Gibbs (deceased) and Leslie Gibbs-Battenfeld, and sister, Karen. She was briefly married to Travis Gann of Soledad, CA in 1996.
Amy was a member of GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) in grammar school in Greenfield, California. She graduated from high school from North Salinas High School in 1994. She obtained a Certificate of Completion as a Medical Assistant from Sierra Nevada Job Corps in Reno NV in 1999, and also obtained an Associate of Arts degree as a Certified Nurse Assistant from Maric College, Sacramento in 2006.
Amy had numerous jobs, but her favorites was as a Medical Records Tech at Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Clinic in Reno, Nevada, and as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at Danish Care Center in Atascadero and at Los Osos Residential Care in Los Osos.
Amy was an avid reader she loved animals and to write poems and poetry, going to the movies, hanging out with friends and cousins, and she loved to dance while attending high school at North County High, in Monterey County. Her favorite past time was being the fun Tia to her niece, Krystal. They enjoyed singing, sharing stories and playing games together. Amy was blessed to have her comfort dog, Tristan for approximately four years who sadly passed away while she was living in Reno.
Amy is survived by her loving mother Leslie of Paso Robles, her dear sister Karen Moore of Santa Maria, and her sweet loving niece Krystal Gibbs of Portland, Oregon. Amy is also survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
She will be greatly missed, as she was a sweet and loving young woman, living her life quietly, humbly, and helping others.
She was preceded in death by her two dads, Von Dean Gibbs-1986 and Gary Battenfeld- 2015.
A Celebration of Life will be held at North County Christian Fellowship - 421 Ninth Street
Paso Robles, California on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00pm. Immediately following the service a "Picnic" lunch and dessert will be served for everyone in the church's Fellowship Hall with a time for sharing and celebrating her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages that memorial donations be made to Amy's selected charities, which include St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Woods Humane Society-Atascadero, and the American Diabetes Association.
