Vada is survived by her children: David Paul Gerfers, Jr. and his wife Kristi, Tina Marie Gerfers Grace and her husband Bryan, and her son-in-law Tony C. Dunham. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Amy Christine Dunham Walls and her husband Keith, Crystal Gayle Dunham Baxley and her husband Sam, Cindy Diane Dunham Edwards and her husband Chris, Jared David Gerfers, Kyle Wayne Grace and his fiancée Courtney Ward, Allan Taylor Grace and his wife Katelyn, Trey Conway and his wife Bailey, Austin Conway and his wife Allee, Colton Gerfers and Blake Vann. She leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Vada was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Paul Gerfers, Sr.; her father, Bennie Boyd Stegall; her mother, Lois Lenora Dudney Stegall; her daughter, Denise Ann Gerfers Dunham; her sister, Lois Ann Stegall Walter; her brother, Charles A. Stegall; and her mother-in-law, Mae Gerfers and her sister-in-law Caren Stegall, and her brother- in-laws Larry Henson and T.J. Hair.
Vada dedicated her life to being a homemaker, a devoted mother, a loving wife, a caring sister, and a loyal friend. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support brought joy and comfort to everyone who knew her. She was also a faithful member of the Southside Church of Christ for over 50 years, where she found a strong sense of community and spiritual fulfillment.
A funeral service will be held on June 12, 2024, at Grandview Funeral Home on Spencer Hwy in Pasadena, TX. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice.
Vada Lou Stegall Gerfers will be remembered for her love, compassion, and dedication to her family, friends, and faith community. She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
