My deepest condolences to the family. This great man help lead me to know the lord. Stated with mens lunching’s at his church. The morning I lost my father, got to office. My brother Terry was there, thank God for prayer. We sold label company. Moved to Ark and started my sign business. A genuine man of god, a good customer and a great friend! He new that I have given my life to the lord sept 97. Missed but never forgotten. Memories last a lifetime, thank you brother for all done, gave and mainly the day I lost my father. I guess I met Terry when I moved into the neighborhood in the early 60s , when we were going to Queens. And I’ll have to be honest, I never knew his middle name until now. Anyway, my memory of Terry are always positive. He was always entertaining, light hearted, but he always let you know where he stood on things. It seemed like once he got involved in something, it was always with both feet. I will surely miss him.

Today I will say goodbye to my good friend, Terry.
I met Terry at Queens and we became fast friends.  He was alway a jokester, artist, storyteller and I admired his love for Jesus.  Terry loved his family and would talk about being a lucky man to have a wife like Jean and daughters Amy, Heather and Stacey.   I’m going to miss my friend.   May he Rest In Peace.  

From the moment I met Terry his presence put a smile on my face.
I will miss his Texas-sized hugs and open heart to share Jesus Christ. Terry was a great guy who loved life and creating one-of-a-kind moments, especially the humorous ones, for all those he shared company with. In later years, at my mom's memorial service, I learned Terry remembered my parents and attending Trinity Baptist Church. See you on the other side, friend.

I met Terry through my high school friendship with his brother Mike. I visited the Schmidt household many times during our school years and years after as well. I would visit Jane and Bob randomly for many years right up to the time Bob left this veil of tears.  Anyone who knew the Schmidts knew  their wit and humor, but Terry's gift of the Schmidt personality was always on steroids.  Though I stayed close to Mike through the years I would only occasionally run into Terry as well as Nancy and Bobbie.  Then one day Mike called me to invite me to join he and Karen at a local evangelist's meeting and to my surprise Terry and his wife were there.  I can't say that I saw him often after the few times we attended until we met again at First Baptist.  I can't decsribe Terry's commitment to his faith any better than others here, so I won't try.  I will just say I will miss him and his wicked sense of humor, his funny antics and his hilarious cartoons on FB .  I would see him at church and at every Tuesday Bible luncheon at First Baptist until Covid ended them. The last time I saw him was last year when he offered me a refrigerator for my deer lease and we spent a couple of hours kibutzing (mostly me laughing at his remarks and observations on the state of the world).  I will miss him as I do his brother Mike, but will see them both again. My prayers for all his family.

My first memory of meeting Terry was playing poker with him at the Holley’s. I thought Heather and Amy had the COOLEST dad. He was such a character who loved all of his girls so well. Terry often commented on FB photos of mine through the years with comments that would always make me laugh! I was deeply touched when he reached out to my husband after a personal tragedy to show his support. I didn’t see him often, but he left a big impact and example  of how to live big and love others well. 

As part of the hospital visitation team Terry visited my step father.  My mom crashed their car while he was in the hospital and Terry took the time to put my stepfather in contact with a car dealer that was able to arrange a new car for him before he was even out of the hospital.  It was such a blessing to me and my family from someone who at the time was a stranger and took it upon himself to share his good cheer with others.  I am thankful I was able to talk to Terry about that in life and let him know how he impacted my family.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Terry’s passing. Terry and my father  worked together at K&M Tools. Together with many other wonderful people, helped to transform K&M into an incredible industrial powerhouse at that time. Terry and my father remained good friends, even up until my father’s passing. Terry would reach out to me from time to time, to reminisce about spending time with Tiny. Terry was a true artist when it came to making signs. Even with a pen and pencil in his hand, Terry could create most anything. He had an incredible sense of humor which most everyone can agree. Making people laugh was definitely one of his special gifts that everyone benefited from. We always enjoyed his additional visitations, so we could contribute to his referenced, $100 Dollar “Slot Kitty” when ever he had an upcoming trip to a casino in Louisiana. He always said with a smile, “You never know, because all of us could hit with just one pull.” Terry and I had a conversation after my father’s passing about what would be next. We both agreed that this is not the end, but rather the beginning of something truly amazing . Life ever after, and all of us shall be together again for all eternity in the House of the Lord..

I met Terry in high school. He was always fun to be around. We went our separate ways after graduation. Several years later, we were reacquainted and had something in common: we had both become Christians. At one of our high school reunions, Terry wore a turban claiming to be an exchange student who had graduated with us. I was asked to do the invocation. I thought it would be good too allow Terry to do it as a witness to the change in his life. When I asked him if he would do the invocation, he said, “Is invocation another word for prayer?” We all had a big laugh and then Terry blessed the crowd in the name of Jesus. I will miss my brother-in-Christ, but I know I will see him again in heaven. If there is any mischief, I will know who is accountable. Terry, you rascal, you beat me to heaven.

All my memories of Terry are either laughing over his funny antics or helping him to pray over a situation. We had a close relationship because of Jesus.  I will dearly miss this wonderful friend. 

I met Terry and Jean and their family at church.  Something about Terry I knew right away...he loved Jesus and his family more than anything.  He had some very unique sayings, and his humor was "dry humor" a lot of the time.  He was one of the most real people I have ever met.  He will be truly missed.  To Jean and family, I will continue to pray for God's grace and comfort in the coming days. I was very blessed to have known Terry.  

Memories? Where does one even begin to start when you’ve lived your entire life adoring the man who raised you? Funny. Charming. Frugal. Gregarious. Loving. Encouraging. Charismatic. Unique. Spontaneous. Affectionate. I could easily surpass the 2,000 character max of characters allowed here, but I just got distracted by a squirrel. 🙃

I have so, SO many other wonderful things to say about my Daddy, but it’s just so hard to capture it all here. 

I’ll leave it here with how funny he was. Like really, really ridiculously funny (and if I’m going to rip movie quotes, I might as well throw in how ridiculously good looking he was as well!) 

I’ll sign off with “This cake is gooooooood.” 🤣

Love you, Daddy! Thanks for making the world a better place while you were here. Can’t wait to reunite with you in heaven! 🙏🏻

My friend  was a great truth teller and overall just a good dude to those many who were fortunate to be in his sunshine. We  spent many a day at the beach and up and down the Gulf Coast. We talked story about doing some adventures and one was tanker surfing. Age and illness got us. My friend was above many in the finer aspects of “common sense” and would proudly share that “common sense” with everyone he knew or met.  One thing he shared was his love of Jesus and loved to tell the story.   
When I grow up I want to be like my friend Terry Schmidt…..Terry was truly blessed as well as his wonderful family…God has them all within his arms

Loved his family that lived across the street from me on Skylark Street in Pasadena.   So sorry for your loss. Thinking of the entire family at this sad time. 

Two things I can definitely say about our friend, Terry Schmidt -- you never had a doubt about his faith in Jesus,  and we've never met anyone who loved having fun more than Terry. What a kind and funny man he was...  I have known Terry for over 30 years, first with Global Octanes, then ITC, Deer Park warehouse...
I still can`t believe, he is not with us anymore...  His last words to me were, with a big smile,  keep up the good work Ron...  I will miss him...

Terry was an awesome man and friend whom I had the pleasure of knowing for over 16 years. Terry and I met early in my career at ITC where he provided various signs for us through his great company Power Graphics. His true “RUSH” service was amazing throughout the years…..if we needed something fast the same day, one call to Terry and he would save the day! On the personal side, I had the honor of being one of Terry’s friend’s whom I was able to benefit from his wisdom and make some great memories with. His smile would light up entire rooms and if you were having a bad day, one interaction with Terry would turn things around with his positive attitude and outlook on life. He lived a great life with his support, love, and service to people and will always have a special place in our hearts. We love you and our continued prayers for Jean, your family, and friends as they go through this difficult time and may God Bless them all the days of their lives.

I didn't know Terry had Fat Rat Books.  I told him last summer he should publish a book with all his drawings, to which he answered that he had and did I want one.  Of course I did.  Mom and I went by his house and he met us in the driveway.  He was so nice and respectful to mom.  I'm so honored to own a original Terry Schmidt Fat Rat.  You left a lot of us behind so we're expecting you to show us the way "When We All Get To Heaven.  Rest In Peace My Friend

You never knew who Terry was going to show up as at out high school reunions. My favorite was the Sheikh!  Loved his humor and his love for Jesus and the truth!!

I have many fond memories of Terry Schmidt! I met Terry  in 1979 when I went to work for K&M tools.  I remember fondly the weekend that he had given his life to Jesus. He had come in to work and told all of us at our morning meeting that he had dedicated his life that weekend. I also remember a few trips To New Braunfels where friends got together with their spouses and stayed a couple of nights, pitched tents and tubed down the river.  Terry never had a bad word to say about anyone, always smiling and full of fun and would host dinners with his wife Jean who is a fabulous cook!  Terry has gone to be with Jesus And one day all of us who are Christians will be gathering with him again and we will see that beautiful smile once more! Love you sweet dear friend, Until we meet again!

I have known Terry for over 40 years.  Was proud to call him friend.  He was a fun person and a brother in Christ.  I taught him how to peel a banana the right way.  He said he also thought of me when he ate one!  I am glad I got to see him a month ago!  My thought and prayers are with his family and Barker!

You made life so much fun!! The world will be a much bleaker place without your light!
