She went to heaven on May 23, 2019 to walk side-by-side with the love of her life Gary.
Sylvia was 63 years young when she left this Earth on May 23, 2019 with her daughters by her side. Sylvia was born November 8, 1955 in Bay City Texas to Manuel and Juana Olvera. Sylvia was a resident of Alvin TX when she passed but she was a long time resident of Pasadena TX before moving to Alvin. She is proceeded in death by the love of her life of 32 years Gary, her father Manuel, Brother Andy, and Sister Olivia.
Sylvia started her career at the young age of 18 working for Mass Photo Company as a photo lab technician for over 30 years where she eventually became a partner in the ownership of the company. Throughout her life she was a devoted wife, mother and “Mawmaw”, volunteering for numerous activities and foundations that her children or grandchildren were involved in. She was a member of Watters Road Church of Christ, where she enjoyed traveling and volunteering her time with her church family.
Sylvia leaves behind on Earth her four loving daughters; Nancy White – McGee and her husband Calvin of Cypress, Frances Scopel and husband Darrin of Alvin, Carrie Edwards and husband Eric of Alvin, Jimmie Charlesworth and husband Chris of Alvin. Sylvia leaves behind her interesting, loving, always by her side grandchildren; Colton, Adrian, Caden, Emma, Evan, Celeste, Landon, Garyson, Owen, Patrick, and those grand-dogs.
She is also survived by her mother Juana Olvera, mother-in-law Mattie Hoehne, Sister Oralia Brown, Brother Max Olvera and wife Rose, brother-in-law Glenn Lynch and wife Margaret, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Special love to her BFF LeaAnn and longtime partner-in-crime Aunt Lupe, both who Sylvia loved so much.
