Sherry Adams Anderson was born on March 11, 1953 in Tyler, Texas and passed away in Pasadena on June 24, 2014 at the age of 61 following a long battle with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. Sherry is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gerald Anderson, her parents Marcia and William (Bill) Adams of Trinity, TX, two sons Brian Anderson and Scott Anderson and his wife, Kari, along with five grandchildren: Trevor, Alyssa, Tristan, Bryson, and Brooklyn, all of Deer Park.
Sherry moved with her parents in 1960 to Deer Park where she graduated from high school in 1971. She married her high school sweetheart in 1972 and together they raised two sons. She spent many years as a receptionist at the Deer Park Family Clinic and was an active member of the Deer Park United Methodist Church. Sherry was an avid reader, loved scary movies and spending time outdoors caring for her plants and dogs, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Sherry was a devoted wife, daughter, mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than attending every sporting event, program, contest and activity of her sons and grandchildren.
Sherry had a generous and loving heart, a quick wit, and infectious laugh. She had a selfless nature and never met a stranger. She faced life with a joyful spirit and quiet courage and always with a smile. She’ll be truly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 27th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 28th at 10:00am at Deer Park United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
The Anderson family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Vista Continuing Care in Pasadena and Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate care and concern. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
