Rose Mae Prudhomme Moore, formerly of Deer Park, Texas and having spent the last nine years residing in New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on June 27th at the age of 91. She was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on January 26, 1932 to Martin Prudhomme and Blanche Sebastien, the 10th of 11 children. Rose grew up on a farm during the Depression and always appreciated being thrifty and grew up learning how to cook Cajun food for a crowd, her specialties being her sausage and chicken gumbo, shrimp creole, and crawfish etouffee.
On November 21st, 1953 she married William "Bill" Moore. They were married for 34 years before his death in 1987.
Rose and Bill raised 4 children, and although Rose had a few part time jobs throughout the years, she was mainly a stay- at-home Mom who could be found sewing for her girls, helping in various capacities at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Deer Park, cooking for her family, or shopping for bargains!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Blanche Prudhomme, her husband, William Moore, her 6 brothers and 4 sisters and all of their spouses, and her youngest son Todd Martin Moore.
She is survived by her daughter Pam Brandt and her husband Russell of New Braunfels, Texas; son Lyle Moore and wife Susan of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter Rhoda Kelley and her husband Michael of Humble, Texas; and daughter-in-law Debbie Moore of Junction, Texas She is also survived by grandchildren Chris Brandt, Amanda Brandt, Lyle Moore, Kate Moore, Lucy Moore, Allie Moore and Katie Moore. Great grandchildren Triston, Serena, and Rose.
