Robert Earl Shipp

Robert “Bo” Earl Shipp, 85, of Houston, passed away on November 20, 2015. Robert was born on August 7, 1930, in Garrison, Texas, to Robert Lee and Ida Shipp. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and served during the Korean War. Following his service, Robert had a 38 year career with Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1986. He loved the outdoors, deer hunting and working in his yard, which he took pride in. Robert was a member of Forest Oaks Baptist Church for over 60 years, where he was a deacon and served the church family that he loved. Most of all, Robert loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Kay Shipp and his parents, Robert and Ida Shipp. He is survived by his second wife, Dorothy Chandler Shipp; children, Steven Shipp (Kendal) and Lisa Harrington (Jimmy); grandchildren, Heather Harrington, Allison Ames (Spencer), Savannah Shipp and Seth Shipp; great-grandson, Connor Ames; brother, Buddy Shipp (Jessie); sister, Betty Jo Adkison (Billy).

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Grand View Memorial Park.
