Robert Earl Hall of Deer Park, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. He was born at the Fire Station in Crockett, Texas, on July 31, 1932 to the late Jewell and Odell Hall. He graduated from Pasadena High School in 1950 and served two years in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Albany. Robert married the love of his life, Diane Walker, in 1954, and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston in 1959. He worked for over 50 years operating the family business that included his father and son in Pasadena: Hall Maytag Home Appliance Center. The assumption that the Maytag Man was a lonely one was not true of Robert. He loved his customers, and did not feel loneliness as a result of their loyalty. Robert loved people and always had a kind word and smile for everyone he met. He was the man behind the scenes, serving his family, friends, church and community. Some of the organizations he served included the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, and First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena. The Pasadena Interfaith Manor was a place he loved and served for 24 years and Pasadena Community Service for 8 years. He is survived by his wife Diane; daughter Kathy and husband George Ericksen; son Mark and his wife Alison Hall; Grandchildren: Stephany and husband Robert Harnden; Jacob Ericksen; Emily and husband Fabian Ramirez; Nathan and wife Priscilla Hall; and Brian Hall; Great grandchildren: Kai Gabriel Ramirez and Lilah Nicole Hall; his “adopted” family from Iran- Reza, Monireh, Andrew, Yashar and Matt Issazadeh and many more family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena in memory of Robert. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena.
