I miss you so much mom. I love you. .  R.I.P.  

Mrs. Mary was my aftercare teacher for all 3 years I was in middle school at Lutheran South. Even when I moved on to high school she never once skipped the opportunity to talk to me or have me update her on my life. I am so grateful for the small time I got to know her.

I miss you so much mom.  I miss everything about you.  I need to talk to you about so much mom.  I know you are home and resting and that brings me comfort but you are so missed.  

Mom,  
It has been a month.  I have cried endlessly but, I will not let that take away the smile I get when I think of the wonderful memories you left me. Emma is walking.  I wish you were here to see her but, I remind myself you have the best view.  I look at Emma and I wonder how I will ever be as good of a grandmother as you were to my kids. As a grandmother you left really big shoes for me to fill but, my promise to you is to give it my all.  In your honor, in your memory I will give it my all.  Mom you were always there for me.  Your advice, your wisdom and unconditional love will always be in my heart.  I will miss you every day.  I will miss your hugs, our talks and your smile.   Mom it seems impossible to think about how we will do this without you not being here with me, us, our family.  I will lean on God like you taught me. I love you mom. I miss you so much.  You were an amazing mom.  You were an amazing person.  I will forever keep your memory alive in my heart and soul. 

I am sadden by the news of Miss Mary's passing.  I have known her since she came to work at LSA.  She was usually across the hall from my classroom, so I was able to talk to her often.  She was such a joy to have around, and you could tell she really loved and card for the kids she cared for in our aftercare program.  When she came back to LSA to visit, she would tell me she sees me often as I am walking my dog and she is headed to the GW store.  I loved her beautiful smile.  She was a blessing to many and will be truly missed.  May God wrap his loving arms around this family as they cope with this loss.

I worked with Mary Ann at Star Furniture Company. She was so kind and sweet to everyone.  I talked to her several days before she passed and we planned on meeting for lunch. I will miss her . 🙏🏿🙏🏿

Now the both of you can be with our ancestors the identical twins Antonia ( my great grandmama Tonia) and your great great grandmama Christina Torres, mother to Leonor mother to my tia Carlota Hernandez Zamora.

Mary loved life. She loved people. I have been at LSA for 19 years. She was there for15 years. She loved her LSA kids so much. She always had a story and a smile. I often wondered how much fun it would be to be a part of her family. I was devastated when I heard of her passing. Prayers for strength and comfort to all. She was more than a great woman. 

I was blessed to know Mary Ann through her work at Lutheran South Academy.  For 15 years she blessed the students and her co-workers with her kind heart and her loving nature.  She often talked fondly about her husband, children, and grandchildren. Miss Mary was a great friend and  her beautiful smile will be missed by everyone at LSA. Thank you Tia Annie for always loving me from afar. You and Tia Mary were the best. So sweet and Kind. Thank you for being there for me when my dad passed. I'll always cherish your memory. Part 2

Cesi then reminded me about the time when grandma learned how to FACETIME.  That was Epic!  She would often push the mute button and didn't know how to unmute herself.  I still remember her voice saying "Perla I can't hear you let me call you back."  That would go on at least 3-4 times but when she got it down she was a pro!  She often would try to hide her face and point the phone to the ceiling.  So we wouldn't she her or her hair.  Cesi would love to call grandma to see Lucy .  Grandma would then ask Grandpa to hold up Lucy so that Coco and Lucy could see each other! They loved to visit.

Grandma we will celebrate your life by cherishing the good times we had together.  From our crawfish boils, Birthdays, Family Events, Vacations, and Don Pepe's  you were and are an inspiration to Joey and myself.  Our children will forever hold in their hearts memories created by you.  Thank you Grandma for loving us unconditionally.   

Cesi, Jacob, Juju, Joey and myself are not saying goodbye. We are saying we love you Grandma until we meet again.  

P.S. Sorry for part 1 and part 2.   We can write a novel about memories created with Grandma. I  Love you.  

Grandma, 

Words cannot explain how we are feeling right now.  We are heart broken and torn.  Joey and myself keep telling kids (Cesi, Jacob, and Juju) remember the good times we spent with Grandma.
Some stories we shared with our kids was Grandma and Grandpa loved to spend time in the casinos.  Joey one day said let's go to the casinos for a date.  We were off too Louisiana and in the casinos and what do you know?  There was Grandma and Grandpa.  What a small world?  I can still hear her voice saying, "Aye, Perla and Joey what are you doing here?"  We responded "the same thing your doing contributing to the casinos!" She would just laugh and just like that grandma and grandpa would disappear!  Always to be found in the penny slots machines!  Another memorable casino even is when Delia called us and said yall want to go to the casinos on a bus? Everyone's going come on! Three hours with Grandma was filled with memories, laughter and joy.
Jacob and Juju would love to hear Grandma's stories about being a twin.  Grandma would often tell them/us stories about her and Tia Mary. The connection and love twins have for each other is very special she would tell us.  
Another memorable moment that was hard for Joey and myself is when Hurricane Harvey hit.  Our house was flooded.   Everyone came together.  Grandma would often call us to lift up our spirts and tell us everything was going to be a ok.  Our family support was endless.  She was a great mentor during that difficult time for us.  She often said decorating will be so much fun and it was.  She loved giving her advice on how to decorate our home.  
Grandma had a kind heart always thinking about our kids.  Her great grandkids.  I cannot remember how many times grandma would save her Mcdonalds toys to give to the kids.  She would also get the kids books to read.  Jacob loves to read.  When grandma would do her weekly shopping at Goodwill she would buy the kids books.  Perfect for them.  She loved them so much.

My mother-in-law who I called Ann.  She was kind and caring to anyone and everyone that crossed her path.  She was a little 4'11" lady that had a 10' heart!  She was THE BEST mother-in-law any son-in-law could ask for. She was truly an angel on earth. 
I'll never forget how happy she was when we gave her her little dog Lucy. 
I'm going to miss seeing her excitement when she would scratch a winning lottery ticket, even if it was only a $1.00 win.  You left us so unexpectedly, we were not ready for you to go, but we know you are peacefully in the arms of Jessica, Tia Mary, Tia Leo, and Jesus our Lord.  
RIP Mother-in-law, you will truly be missed.

Sonja, my heart aches with you, your Dad and your sisters 💔. Your Mom was the sweetest!! I remember her taking us to work with her at Star furniture when we were in middle school. It was an honor to have known her and I’m so happy I was able to see and hug her recently. RIP Mrs. Gomez ☦️ 

I am so blessed to have had her in my life and gained her as another grandma. She welcomed me into her family and treated me as her own grandchild. She was so special to anyone that knew her. You could never have a bad day when you were around her. She was the most caring and loving person. I remember her and grandpa were so quick to show up to the hospital when Emma was born- even when we told them not to worry about coming. I know how much she loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. I will miss her many texts and calls to request pictures and videos of Emma(her little cupcake). I know she couldn’t wait to see Emma walk and now she will have the best view from above. We love her so much and she will always be in our hearts ♥️ 

I can remember vaguely as a child coming to the realization that there was another Grandma to my Grandma...a twin. Confusing and a little scary to me being a kid,  I can still hear Tia Ana's comforting words..."I'm your other Grandma from Houston and I love you like your Grandma Mary does" ...and no words were ever truer. Growing up and seeing my Grandma and Tia Ana together was always a thing of amazement. How could the Lord have made two almost perfect identical people with so much love in their hearts? But it was possible... and my Grandma and Tia Ana truly lived it. Losing Grandma Mary was one of the hardest things I've ever been thru in my life and I know my Houston familia is hurting dearly. I can't wait to hug every single one of you soon. Sending endless love from the Morales Boys (JJ and Bj) and Family ❤️

My thoughts and prayers are with the Gomez family.  I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mary Ann, but I feel certain Sonja is very much like her - a beautiful smile, a loving heart and never meets a stranger.  Rest in paradise lovely lady.

Dearest Grandma 
When I walked into this family 18yrs ago I did not know what to expect so many things ran through my head . Would they like me? will they judge me? will they accept me & my six of my children? Little did I know that marrying your oldest grandson Robert we would receive unconditional love acceptance & understanding. I was confused thinking to myself this is to good to be true until I met you, you were a shinning example of unconditional love kindness gentleness & understanding You instilled all of these qualities in each of your daughters & grandchildren. Honestly being loved by my husband's family has been one of my life's greatest gifts. 

You always had a sweet loving gestures that made my children feel special and taken care of, slipping them a $20 bill and telling them it was yalls little secret is a perfect example.

There are so many things I am going to miss about you ,your unique style & how you pared it with your beautiful vintage jewelry, your cute little giggles, your phone calls to check on us, running into you in the Chick Fil A line, your excited face when you won the LCR pot. But mostly im going to miss seeing you around the family, you would float around making sure you caught up with each of us giving us your time and attention all while making sure grandpa was taken care of. 

You will forever hold a special place in my heart Grandma. Rest in paradise, see you on the other side of the stars 🌟

MaryAnn I was so Blessed to know you. You were one of the sweetest, caring person I had ever met. You always had a smile on your face. I dont think u ever had a bad day. I always enjoyed spending time with you and Joe.  Im going to miss you so much. A happy time I remember is when Joe finally gave in and you got Lucy . You were so happy.  I love you my friend.

I did not know Mrs. Gomez personally. I knew her through her daughter, Sonja. My heart breaks for Mrs. Gomez’s family but rejoice that she is with her Lord and Savior. What helps me through times like this is something funny. And I will never forget the time that I saw Mr. and Mrs. Gomez in Luby’s. I thought oh my gosh there is Sonja’s mom and dad – I have to say hello! They probably did not remember me but I had to say hello. Forgetting that Sonja’s maiden name was Gomez and her married name is Terry, I greeted them as Mr. and Mrs. Terry – I think I introduced them to my husband. I’m sure they thought I had lost it and who is this person. But they did not miss a beat – just as polite and smiling. I wonder what was going through her mind. She will be missed I know. Hugs, prayers, and much love to her family.

I miss the words"whats going on miss Dee"thats how you always started the conversation. Mom in my purse I've carried the beautiful  litte quote book you gave me in 2018 .It has a message to me with your beautiful writing. I hope I can read the quotes and maybe it will help me heal. You were not just my mom you were my best friend. I'm going to miss our daily laughs , talks,our secrets, our hgtv chats.Your the most kind, sweet,caring, beautiful soul I knew. My mom was the sweetest, kindest, gentlest, caring lady.  Anyone that knew her would agree. Life without my mom is going to be so hard for me, my sisters, and especially my dad.  Her many grandchildren will miss her too.  There wasn’t anything her 3 son-in-law’s wouldn’t have done for her. 
I’m going to miss you the most when I think about the times I would FaceTime you late at night and all I would see is the ceiling and your forehead.

Joe, Dee Joan and Sonya we want to tell you how much we loved Mary Ann and we are going to miss her. We want to send our sympathy for you loss. She would tell us how much she missed her sister and I know she is with her now. I had our front door open and hear the garage door open and see her car and I would tell Bryan there goes Anna going shopping. I always called her Anna Banana and she would laugh at me. She was one of the sweetest souls and her and Joe the best neighbors in anyone could have. She would always talk about the love she had for Joe her girls and how her girls had the best husbands and all her grandchildren. She was excited about the new great grand baby and going to see her. She will truly be missed. Again so sorry for your loss.
