Tita was born July 26, 1952 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and migrated to Laredo, Texas as a young child, with her family, where she grew up and lived through her twenties with her three young daughters. She was married and divorced early and dedicated her life to ensuring her girls were always cared for and protected.
In late 1985, her high-school sweetheart, Reyes Herrera called and after a brief courtship, they decided that a 20 year separation was long enough and they were married on January 31, 1986.
The couple lived in Houston where together they loved and raised 5 daughters and were blessed with 10 grandchildren and a great grandchild, many more were welcomed, comforted, fed and always loved in their home.
Tita worked many years at Grocers’ Supply in Houston where she made lifelong friendships that always felt more like family. She enjoyed hosting family and friends on holidays, weekends and all days in between, and was often seen dancing in the kitchen with or without a partner.
Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Tita is preceded in death by her parents, Raul and Hortencia Sanchez and brothers, Humberto, Raul, Gabriel and Juan. She is survived by her husband, Reyes, sisters Nydia Gutierrez and Yolanda (Raul) Uscanga, brothers Anselmo (Alejandra) Sanchez and Fernando (Severita) Sanchez, daughters Celina (Kenneth) Monroe, Adriana (Randall) Chan and Maricela Medrano; step-daughters Jeanette (Elvis) Lopez and Naomi (Gabriel) Reyes; grandsons Andrew, Kaleb, Stephen, Jonah, Spencer and Elijah; granddaughters Amanda, Magen, Anna, Nasya & Olivia, great granddaughter, Madyson Lee and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
