On October 22,2019, Joaquin Peña left this world to join his wife, Juanita T. Pena and family in eternal life in Heaven. He is survived by his children Joel and Barbie Pena, Joselina Crispi, Jaime Pena, and Julia Rosenbaum; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is fondly remembered by the name Popo to most, Jack, or Joaquin. In his 96 years, he was an immigrant and a Veteran of WWII and Korea, with service in both the Navy and Army respectively. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Popo inspired love and joy in everyone, from VFW members, neighbors, to just about anyone who met him.
Joaquin Pena spent most of his career as a "Jack of All Trades." He worked for Pan Am, Maxwell House, and many department store auto shops. "Popo fix” was a family saying; he was able to repair anything.
Popo lived his life with a dedication to hard work, and a will to lead a good life as a good person. He was always working. He enjoyed his off time as well, being a great fan of wrestling (often at full volume on tv.) Popo was selfless, kind, funny, silly and a honest hero to everyone who knew him. He will be missed my all.
