Jessie D. Burgin, 85, of Anna, TX, formerly of Pasadena, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014. Jessie was born in Sickles, OK in 1928 and was married to Troy Burgin for 64 years before his death in 2011. Together they had three children, Larry Burgin of Temple, TX and wife Carole, Karen Taff of Anna, TX and husband Steve and Brenda Logan of Baytown, TX and husband Bryan. They have 8 grandchildren – Christy, Melissa, Ashley, Eric Jeremy, Dwayne, Mike and Angela. They were also blessed with 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
People have always said Jessie’s eyes sparkled when she smiled and that she was great listener. She made tasty chocolate pies and was an awesome cook in her day. She crocheted many blankets and gave them away to her family. We will always cherish them as heirlooms. She loved the little babies and loved to hear stories about her great grandkids.
She also loved family get-togethers and going on trips in the RV with our dad to music jams. She was never one to pass up a good garage sale looking for antiques and glassware but probably her favorite hobby was fishing.
Jessie is preceded in death by her parents Mildred and David Peel and one brother Jack Peel. She is survived by her sister Helen Bingham of Kingsland. Jessie will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held at Grandview Funeral Home in Pasadena on Saturday March 8, 2014 from 11am-3pm. Funeral services will be in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home at 3pm the same day with burial to follow next to her husband in Grand View Memorial Park. Well wishes to Jessie and the family may be shared at www.grandviewfunerals.com
