James “Gill” Daley age 83, of Pasadena, TX went to be with the Lord on February 1st, 2011. He was born in Screven County, Georgia on February 20, 1927 to John & Emily Daley. He graduated from Sylvania High School in Screven County Georgia where he excelled in sports he has since been named to The Hall of Fame Sports Center there. He spent three years in the merchant marines during World War II and two years in the army during the Korean War. He played baseball for the South Atlantic League, Houston Buffs in the Texas League and International League. He retired from the Port of Houston as a Clerk Checker in 1993. He was a loving husband and wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed until we are all together again with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Margaret Daley, daughters Suzie Fallon and Cheryl Wilson, son Tommy Daley, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy Barry and Gladys Anderson and his brother John Daley Jr. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 10AM to 11AM with Funeral Service to follow at 11AM in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home.
