Mrs. Dorothy Ruth Stone

Dorothy Ruth Stone was born on October 6, 1928 in Sweetwater Texas to Carrie and Oscar Walker. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Jack W Stone, her husband of 69 years, sister Joann Darr, and her brother Raymond Walker. Mary Carpenter and James Walker are her surviving siblings. Dorothy has three sons, James, Gerald and Jack Stone and daughter Debra Allen. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Her smile, laughter and passion for life was contagious. She always had a hug and kiss for you, which made you feel like you were the special person in her life that day. Her great love in life was focused on being a mother and grandmother to her immediate and large extended family. “Aunt Dorothy” was loved by all for her compassion and caring that she gave freely to each of us. She loved cooking and collecting cook books. She really never learned to cook a small meal because her cooking skills were well known and as a result, we always had extra seats at the dinner table with plenty of home cooked food to go around. She was a special person that cared deeply for her family and her large extended family of nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Each of our lives have been enriched by having walked our life’s path with her. She will be sorely missed and will be in our hearts forever.
