Cynthia Lynn Foster went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Pasadena, Texas. She was born on April 15, 1934 in Breckenridge, Texas. She was the daughter of Alva and Marvel Harrell. She grew up in Texas, moved to Kentucky and attended Western University in Bowling Green Kentucky, majoring in Medical Technology. Married and had three daughters and then moved back to Texas. Worked many years at Bayshore Hospital in Pasadena as a lab technician. She also worked in doctors' offices and as a church secretary. A longtime resident of Deer Park, Texas. First Baptist Church Pasadena was where she attended faithfully. A woman of many talents. She enjoyed playing tennis, loved to paint, wrote poetry, played the piano and used her talent for singing in church. She sang in choirs, taught Sunday school and also led bible studies. Studying the bible and reading books were also some of her favorite things to do. She had many friends and never met a stranger. Cynthia loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, mind and strength and served Him daily with her life. A wonderful mother and proud grandmother she was. The legacy she leaves behind will continue and live forever in their hearts.
She is survived by her children, Sherrie Pate and husband Derrel, Lisa Brown and husband Eddie, Cindy Springer and husband Kenneth. Grandchildren include David Pate and wife MeLisa, Melissa Smith and husband Casey, Rebecca Hood and husband Austin, Michael Stokes, Clint Brown, Ashley Springer,Lindsey LeBlanc and husband Jake LeBlanc, and Elizabeth Springer. Great-Grandchildren include Olivia and Eli Pate
Aubrey, Ben and Preston Smith, Dax Stokes and Charlee LeBlanc and by her children’s father, David Simmons. Cynthia has a blended family that includes Barbara & George Watkins, Joanne Eagle and Steve Davis, John Eagle and Jeanne Taylor, Tricia and James Hammack, Donna and Jeff Rankin and their families including Charles Foster, James Foster, Denise and Curtis Spilman, Barbara and David Owen and their families.
She was preceded in death by Hugh John Eagle, Fred Foster and Clay Brown.
A service to honor and celebrate Cynthia Foster’s life will be on Thursday, January 12th at 12:00 p.m. at Faith Bridge Church at 4711 Center Street, Deer Park, TX 77536, with the viewing at 10:00 a.m. the same morning.
The service will be officiated by Phil Springer.
