Christopher Scott Miller

He was born in Pasadena Texas on April 1, 1959 to his loving parents James and Wyonne Miller. Chris had one sibling, a sister Debbie. He graduated from La Porte Texas high school in 1977. He was a lifelong resident of La Porte. In 1982 he married Kimberly Moore and together they raised 2 daughters Christina and Jenna. Chris and Kim later divorced in 2007 but he remained close to Kim and her family.

Chris was a dedicated and hard worker and began his career as a tool mechanic. He worked at Deer Park Rentals for nearly 20 years before changing careers to work at Dixie Chemicals in Pasadena Texas. Here he worked for 23 years as a process operator. He retired from Dixie in May 2022.

Chris had a love of the outdoors. His favorite hobbies were hunting with his father, barbequing on the back porch, and playing blackjack. He also enjoyed meeting friends, many of them Dixie coworkers, for breakfast and coffee at local restaurants. Chris’s family and friends especially loved it whenever he would BBQ a brisket. He also enjoyed and cherished spending time with his four grandchildren Emma, Ryland, Charlie and Channing.

Chris was a people person and made friends easily. He was known to his family and all the neighbors as just “pops”. We are forever grateful to have had him in our lives and he will always be remembered for his big heart and big smile.

He is survived by his parents James and Wyonne Miller, sister Deborah Berg and husband Jim, daughter Christina Hilner and husband Dan, daughter Jenna Deao Grandchildren Emma, Ryland, Charlie, and Channing. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Earle and Ruth Kowalski and James and Marguerite Miller

The family would like to thank those at MD Anderson, UTMB Clear Lake and also Chelsea Sanchez for the special care they gave Chris during his illness.

A visitation for Christopher will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 6, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A committal will occur Friday, October 6, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.
