Mark passed away from natural causes at home in Parksville, BC on April 27th, 2020
Mark was born in Hamilton, Ontario the son of Glenn and Shirley Pearson. Mark was raised through his teenage years by Bill and Dorothy Pearson, his dearly loved uncle and aunt, in a loving home. His love of the outdoors was fostered by Uncle Bill who also developed Mark’s ability to work on anything mechanical. He joined the Peterborough Police Department and in 1980 Mark joined the RCMP. He was posted to Surrey, BC and it was here where he and his wife Elizabeth became the proud father of Jennifer. Mark was later transferred to Nelson, BC and subsequently to Ontario where he was posted in Toronto, Kingston, London and Newmarket. He retired in 2013 after 33 years at the rank of Inspector. He was rewarded for his dedication and professionalism at various points of his career but he was especially and quite deservedly proud of having received the Meritorious Service Award from the Governor General of Canada in 2003. His affection for the west coast had never been lost and a relocation to Parksville, BC followed his retirement . Mark loved the natural surroundings of his home which can be seen in the array of photographs he posted to his website markwpearson.com . He is survived by his family and many friends who will dearly miss him.
