It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Larry. He was a kind, sweet, gentle soul that will be forever in our hearts.
Larry will be lovingly remembered and adored by his wife, Jodene; sons: Jody, Jason, and Darrin; 5 grandchildren; sister, Patricia Reynolds (Larry Pokeda); and brother, Albert (Christine) Smyth.
Larry was predeceased by his parents Charles (Chuck) and Doreen Smyth.
Born in Abbotsford, raised on Vancouver Island in the logging camps on the north island, Camp #2 in Sayward and then Kelsey Bay. He cherished the Logging Industry lifestyle and proudly carried on the family tradition of a career “in the bush”. He was well respected and admired in his field and for the man he reliably was, by all who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him.
As a youngster Larry spent summers on his grandparent’s farm in Abbotsford and emersed himself in the work, the land, and the animals, while surrounded by nature. He held this in his being throughout his life and chose to surround himself with and live in the serenity that nature offers, enjoying his life with his wife, family, and friends.
Peacefully, happily, gratefully.
Those we love don’t go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard, but always near
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
