He was born October 20, 1935, in Parkersburg a son to the late Clarence and Sylvia Wagoner. He was a veteran of the US Navy, and went on to work at Dupont retiring after 35 years of service in 1993. He was a member of the Gateway Apostolic Church and loved golf, reading, traveling, spending time with family and working around the church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Bill Wagoner Jr., and Thomas Woodrow Wagoner, and his siblings, Mary Elizabeth Clayton, Clarence Wagoner Jr., Harry Wagoner, Jim Wagoner, Bob Wagoner, and Donald Wagoner.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Wagoner, a sister, Patsy Parsons (Okey), a special daughter in law, Patty (Gary Caplinger), grandchildren, Woodrow Wagoner (Tabetha), and Allison Paige Wagoner, and great granddaughter, Elizabeth Jane Wagoner.
Service will be Sunday, July 28, 2013, 3:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Steve Joy, and Sr. Pastor Mike Seebaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens with Veterans Rites by American Legion Post 15.
There will be a time of visitation prior to the service Sunday from 1-3 pm at the funeral home.
