He was born August 20, 1941, in Parkersburg, a son of the late William Harold and Carol (Seabolt) Snyder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Louann Snyder.
Richard was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired from the US Postal Service with 22 years of service. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, attending Antique and Classic car shows, collecting Hot Wheels and M2 Machine cars, stamps and coins. He enjoyed spending time walking, riding his bike, golfing, Tai-Chi, and listening to classic country music. He liked to cheer on the Mountaineers on Saturday and the Steelers on Sunday.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Randall Lee Snyder and his wife Kelly of Washington, Vickie Dellinger and her husband Steve of Washington, Pamela Dawn Cottrell of Parkersburg, Michael Alan Snyder and his wife Rebecca of Parkersburg, Christina Lynn Knapp of Parkersburg; brothers Dave Snyder of Belpre, Garry Snyder of Florida; sister Bernadine Hornbeck of NC; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Graveside service with Military Rites will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the Sunset Memory Gardens Chapel of Peace Mausoleum with Minister Dean Ash officiating.
