She was born December 6, 1930 in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late Lewis Sams and Ellen Whitehair Sams.
Josephine was a Christian by faith. She enjoyed baking and could create flavorful masterpieces. She loved shopping and buying gifts for others. She was very giving. She was an animal lover, especially her dogs. Her greatest love, however, was for her family. She will be remembered for the way she took care of those she loved and will be deeply missed.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her son, James Argabrite of Parkersburg, WV; daughters, JoAnne Virden of Williamstown, WV, Terry (Steve Seagraves) Bennett of Parkersburg, WV, Rosemary (Roger) Wigal of Adams, TN, Tina Argabrite of Parkersburg, WV, Kelly (Mitch) Taylor of Marietta, OH; sister, Donna Sams of Parkersburg, WV; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and furbaby, Jenny.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, James Argabrite, James Williams; daughter, Peggy Lemon; brothers, Lehman Sams, Edward Sams, Howard Sams, Blaine Sams; sisters, Kate Jaggers, Evelyn Springer; infant sister, Stella; son-in-law, Robert Virden; fur babies, George, Ginger, Jenna, Jake, Gracie, and Jake the cat.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. July 17, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12 P.M. to 1 P.M. at the funeral home.
