He was born March 10, 1927 to the late James S. Smith and the late Lottie M. Weekley Smith in Warwood, WV.
Earl was a WWII vet, serving 3rd army. He retired from the telephone company with 33 years of service. He married the late Christeen George on October 25, 1947.
He is survived by his sons, Roger (Jennifer) Smith of Lubeck, WV, Bob Smith of Vienna, WV; grandchildren, Channing Smith, Zacory Life, Chelsey Lafferty; and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Earl Phillip Smith; three brothers, James Smith, Bernie Smith, Donald Smith; three sisters, Madlyn Roth, Francis Wolfe, and Vera K. Pellen.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2020, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the funeral home.
