He was born October 19, 1933, in Volcano, WV, a son of the late Frank and Elsie Jane (Jenkins) Marks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Vivian Marks; son Donald E. Marks Jr.; brother Charles Marks; son in law Robert B. Miller and his cat Lill Marks.
Donald was a 1952 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He then joined and served his country faithfully in the United States Navy and was a member of the Mount Olivet Masonic Lodge, #3 A.M. & F.M., Parkersburg. He retired from Dupont Washington Works as an Extrusion Operator and Foreman with 38 years of service. Donald enjoyed working outside, feeding the wildlife, was an avid hunter and fisherman, coaching various sports and playing cards.
Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Rebecca Miller of Rittman, OH, Donna King of Washington, WV, Jerri Coss of Pennsboro, WV; daughter-in-law Debbie Marks; grandchildren Robert B. Miller Jr, John Anthony Miller both of Rittman, OH, Vivian Ann King of Parkersburg, Paul E. King III and his wife Anabel of Houston, TX, Rebecca Lynne King of Capitola, CA, Paige Elizabeth Flanigan of Washington, WV, Donald Eugene Marks III of Washington, WV, Melissa Stanley Taylor of Sissonville, WV, Shane Frederick Radabaugh and his wife Holly of Rittman, OH; 9 great grandchildren and two cats, Lucky and Lizabeth Marks.
Service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens with Military Rites. Masonic Rites will be provided by the Mount Olivet Lodge #3, A.M. & F.M. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Salvation Army, 534 5th Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
