He was born April 1, 1925 in Palestine, WV, a son of the late W. A. (Bill) Dye and Linia Jane (Price) Dye.
He was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Santee Aircraft Carrier. He was retired from Keene Corporation with 40 years’ service.
He was an avid sportsman, loving to hunt deer and turkey. He also loved to garden.
He attended Grace Gospel Church in Pettyville for many years until his health became an issue.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty J. (Lee) Dye; Four children, Lois Roton (Randy) of Parkersburg: Roger Dye of Georgia; Mark K. Dye (Sharon) of Pettyville; Lisa Wells (Dave) of Belpre, OH. Seven grandchildren and Eight great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, one sister, Mary Faust of Pennsylvania and one brother, Basil Dye of Palestine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. Nov. 8, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Dale officiating. Visitation will be Friday Nov. 7, 2014 from 6- 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special acknowledgement to the excellent care of Carl to the second floor staff of Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.
