Betty Jean Weaver, 71, was granted her wings on Oct. 17, 2010 with a smile on her beautiful face.
She was born Sept. 3, 1939, in Parkersburg. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and the friends that Betty had touched in some way throughout her life. Although she was so tiny and frail, she gave us all such courage, hope, and reminded us of the preciousness of life.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Betty loved with her whole heart and loved unconditionally. She always looked forward to her near weekly visits to Western Sizzlin, and loved to rock in her favorite chair with her loyal best friend “Chip” who was always faithfully by her side.
She is survived by two sisters, Myrtle “Mickey” Roach of Malvern, OH and Mary Wolford of New Castle, PA. She has also left behind five daughters, Kimberly I. Kerns, Eva L. Benear, Connie S. Moore, Terri A. Ellis, and Karen E. Mace, all of Parkersburg; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a very special niece, Vera Keister.
Betty’s viewing will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Graveside cremation services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Housecalls Hospice 1226 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
