Wayne Couch, 73, of Pattonville, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016, at his home. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Randy Dority and Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery at Deport. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Wayne, the son of Marvin C. Couch & Lucille Cornish Couch, was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Pike County, AR. He attended school at Deport and then entered barber school in Ft. Worth. Upon completion he became the youngest licensed barber in the state of Texas at the age of 16. He barbered in Paris at several locations before opening his own shop. Wayne’s career spanned forty years. He was a “trader” and enjoyed trading anything. Many who knew him will remember this well. He had a great love and compassion for all animals. He was preceded in death by his father, two grandchildren, Hannah Weiberg and Dylan Ballard, and one sister, Mildred Houston. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Griffin Couch, whom he married on Jan. 27, 1962, building fifty-four and one half years of family and memories, three children, Vicki Ballard & husband Ronnie of Paris, Kim Lewis & husband Tommy of Paris and Dr. Wayne Couch of Ft. Collins, CO, his mother, Lucille Couch Pickering of Deport, grandchildren, Matthew Allen and Madison Helms both of Paris and Riley Couch, Olivia Couch, Easton Couch and Elly Couch all of Ft. Collins, CO, a sister, Eva Flenniken & husband Boyce of Deport along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Dylan’s Drivers, 1425 20th Street N. E., Paris, TX 75460.
