Myra Kay Hughes
Born in the bustling metropolis of Borger, Texas on July 20th, 1940, she decided to make her grand exit in Paris on October 20th, 2023. Not Paris, France, mind you, but Paris, Texas - though she had an appetite for travel, her heart always led her back to the charm of a small town.
She was preceded in death by her mother Grace, father Hollis, and son Kris. She leaves behind her loving husband Keith, devoted son Randall, and cherished grandkids.
Myra Kay was her birth name but her friends and family knew her simply as Kay. The words "boring" and "Kay" were never in the same sentence. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit undeniably uplifting, and her knack for pleasing people was second to none.
A devout Christian woman, Kay had a relationship with Jesus that was enviable – they were so close it could be argued that she had Him on speed dial. Every Sunday, she shared her love for the Lord, belting out hymns. Choir angels are now probably receiving tips from Kay on how to hit the right notes.
A fiercely loyal wife, Kay was known for two things: her unparalleled sense of humor and her commitment to Keith. The couple was the embodiment of "partners in crime," though their “crimes” usually involved traveling across the US together in the latest edition car or deciding on who was going to get the last piece of pie.
So, let's remember her with joy and continue her legacy of never meeting a stranger and always leaving a trail of smiles behind.
We'll miss you, Kay. We hope heaven has a shiny new car ready for you and Keith to explore those golden streets. And if you hear some extra laughter and joy up there, well, we know who's responsible. Safe travels, Kay. Keep the engine running for Pa.
