The family will receive friends at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Sunday, Dec. 15th from 4-6 p.m. Services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16th at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Private interment will follow in Highland Cemetery at Deport.
Mark, the son of Herman Terry Gray & Dorothy Ellen Wood Gray, was born Oct. 29, 1959, in Clarksville, TX.
He graduated from Prairiland High School in 1978. For a number of years he was a machinist in Greenville. When he returned to Lamar County he worked at B & W several years before beginning work at Westinghouse/Phillips Lighting where he was a machinist for 20 years with 10 of those years as a supervisor. When the plant closed, Mark went to work at the Campbell Soup Company where he was the Warehouse Shipping Supervisor. At the time of his passing he was still employed by Campbell’s.
Mark loved hunting, fishing, and tinkering in his shop. In his younger years he was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts where he had been a troop leader.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Godwin Gray, siblings, James Richard Gray & wife Yvonne and Deeann Flores, nieces & nephews, James Dee Gray & wife Heather and their daughters Madie & Audrey, Teri Ann Burge & husband Chuck & their daughter Lauren, and Israel Flores III & wife Stefanie and his son Kohl, his mother-in-law Donna Conrad, a brother-in-law Lance Conrad, a sister-in-law Rebecca Lynn Garcia, along with a plethora of friends and his best “girl”, Pinto
Bean.
