Ann Marie (Wallace) Schroeder was born May 2, 1952, in Omaha, NE to Dr. Stephen and Loretta (Rieple) Wallace. She was the second of four siblings and grew up in Wahoo, NE where her father practiced medicine and her mother was a nurse. Ann graduated from Bishop Neumann High School (1970) where she was a cheerleader, member of the marching band, All-state French horn musician, and member of the golf team. Her summers were spent working as a lifeguard at the Wahoo swimming pool. She attended Creighton University and University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she met her future husband. She was a die-hard Husker fan. On November 20, 1982, she married her college sweetheart and settled in Bellevue. Ann worked in medical administration at various clinics in the metro area during her adult life, but her greatest work was being a loving mother to her two sons and Nana to her five grandchildren. Her love for her kiddos was immeasurable. Unfortunately for those who loved her, Ann died December 25, 2023 from complications from surgery due to Crohn's disease.
She is survived by her husband Van; sons, Stephen (Erika), Michael (Erin); her precious grandchildren, Graham, Nelia, Emmelyn, Lexi, and Joslyn; her mother, Loretta; her brother Pat (Cheryl), sister Mary (Greg) Kirby; nieces Laura (Nate) Knoll, Megan (Eric) Goodman and Nephew John (Caitlin) Geisinger; many cousins and extended family. She was predeceased by her father, brother Kevin and Nephew Mark Wallace.
