Hahnemann Hospital loses a legend: George Bernard Park, Jr. had a 52 year career as Pharmacist at Hahnemann Hospital
George Bernard Park, Jr. Born October 8, 1940 - Camden New Jersey passed away on October 29, 2014 at Hahnemann Hospital, Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Park Graduated Camden High in 1958, Graduated from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He was a member of the phi delta chi fraternity
While attending college he worked summers as a camera man on American Bandstand
George had a 52 year career at Hahnemann Hospital. George worked in the Pharmacy Purchasing Department beginning June 12, 1962 until last Friday when he entered Hahnemann as a patient.
He was honored for Fifty Years of Service at Hahnemann and was additionally honored for having perfect attendance for 47 years. He became an Irish citizen and traveled back to Ireland to trace his roots. He became a member of the Masons as a member of the University Lodge NO. 51
He is survived by his wife Mary Katherine DaRin-Park. His son George B Park, III, Of Harleysville, PA, his wife Tracey and their two children, George B. Park, IV and Julia. His son Michael Park of Simsbury, CT, his wife Kristen and their son Ryan. His daughter Nancy Kielinen of Holden MA, her Husband Rob and their two children, Aidan and Ella. His two step children, Katherine DaRin-McHugh of Chicago, IL , her husband Ryan and their two children, Henry and Nora. Elizabeth DaRin-Mavros of Chicago, IL, her husband Mike. He is also survived by his sister, Lois Park Livecchi and her husband Pat of Cherry Hill New Jersey. Elvira Cantafio Park, his first wife of Holden, MA, and his sister – in-law Marie Cantafio of Devon.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St John’s Presbyterian Church located at 217 Berkeley Road in Devon, PA. In Lieu of flowers please send donations in the name of George B. Park, Jr to: University of the Sciences, College of Pharmacy, 600 South 43rd Street
