Terry joined the Army when he was 17 years old, serving in Vietnam. He completed his enlistment in the Army, and then enlisted in the Navy, where he served on a ship. When his tour on the ship ended, he became a Seabee. He retired from the military in 1989, finally settling in Lake Los Angeles, California. He then worked for the City of Lancaster for 20 years, first at the museum and then in the Parks & Recreation Department, after which he retired.
He was an active member of the Fleet Reserve and the VFW Post 3552, enjoying spending time with like-minded veterans who also loved and served our country. He served as the post commander for 5 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Stotts; mother, Mary Oller; stepfather, George Oller; sister, Kay; and brother, David. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy Hopper of Lake Los Angeles, California; sisters Joy (John) Blakely of Enid, Oklahoma; and Mary Beth (Burt) Hinderliter of Enid, Oklahoma; daughters Zabrina Marsh of Booneville, Arkansas; Nicole Wehling of Del City, Oklahoma; Candra Hubble of Enid, Oklahoma; Vickie Baker of Lake Los Angeles, California; and Zoie (Mike) Fair of Rogers, Arkansas; son, Joshua Hopper of Lake Los Angeles, California; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his dedicated service dog, Stella Rose. He is much-loved and will be greatly missed.
